Updating Nimbuzz on Pre-installed Devices

Greetings Nimbuzzers!
This article is for the Nimbuzzers who use pre-installed Nimbuzz Application on their devices.most of Micromax handsets and Lava A9 handset has pre-installed Nimbuzz since last year but they are not updateable.in most device Nimbuzz 1.7.2 was pre-installed and now we have the latest version of 1.9.5 with lot of new features.

Just like the other pre-installed apps Nimbuzz also cannot removed/uninstalled from your device.so you cannot installed a new Nimbuzz file due to the existence of the app name.
Here is the solution to this issue.all you need, is to open the Nimbuzz.jar file and edit a file inside it.

STEP 1
Download the specific Nimbuzz.jar file for your device from Nimbuzz.com to your computer

STEP 2
Open the Nimbuzz.jar file with WinRAR

STEP 3
Open the "META-INF" folder

STEP 4
Drag and drop or Extract the "MANIFEST.MF" file to any place you like

STEP 5
Open the Windows Note Pad and drag & drop the MANIFEST.MF file in to it.

STEP 6
Change the MIDlet-Name to Something else.(for example i changed it to Nimbuzz2)

STEP 7
Save the Edited File and delete the old MANIFEST.MF file inside the WinRAR

STEP 8
Drag & drop the new edited MANIFEST.MF file inside the META-INF empty folder and transfer the .jar file to your device and install

NOTE : If you cannot update the newly installed app,you can uninstall it and download the new version and edit as above and reinstall again.

Happy Nimbuzzing !
