Aakash II To Get Android Ice Cream Sandwich Update

Aakash 2nd version tablet will hit the Indian market within next three weeks.the specifications of the new device was already announced and the OS will be Android 2.3 Gingerbread. This news is for the people who waiting to buy an Aakash II, after few months of the release, Aakash II will get an OS update of ICE CREAM SANDWICH.
The CEO of the Datawind,Suneet Singh Tuli,officially announced that Aakash II will get Android 4.0 ice Cream Sandwich update after two months from the release.Still the distributing way of the update is not confirmed and rumors say it will be downloadable as a PC download.

If you read the hardware specifications above, you might think how come ICS update can run with them? Yes that's why this ICS update is so important. the hardware of the device doesn't even meet the minimum requirements to run Android 4.0
Even Google refused to release a ICS update to Nexus one,a handset with a 512MB RAM and 1GHz processor.so this is pretty confusing,but the developers and software engineers at Datawind will compile a light ICS distribution that can run on the device like a charm.If they succeed,other companies may try to update the OS for their handsets.
